Our Custom Design Service

Our products reflect the design prowess of our Master Craftsman Greg Wilson, who has been building furniture for more than 35 years. His appreciation of and respect for wood and his incredible artistic talent are reflected in everything he builds. Specializing in "functional art", creating innovative and enticing display designs, Greg has just set up a new shop and office dedicated solely to research and development. He is already at work on the continued improvements of our original fixture designs, as well as the next generation of innovative fixture concepts.

Jefferson State Forest Products strives to enhance all departments of your store by designing fixtures that permit you to create a natural ambiance, allowing your customers to have a pleasant shopping experience. The versatility of our produce fixtures, combined with the creativity of your produce team, allow you to create a fresh new look as the seasons change.

Our Production Team

Jefferson State Forest Products (JSFP) has actively implemented the "Jefferson Production System", a lean manufacturing method streamlining all aspects of the manufacturing process with the goal of eliminating waste. We strive to eliminate all forms of waste in the manufacturing process of our products, from the materials that are used, to the man hours required to build them.

The JPS starts with a focus on the customer, our goal is to provide them with the very best products achievable at the most economical price possible. One of the ways we do this is by removing waste from all of our business systems. We define waste as anything the end customer would not be willing to pay for.

We have identified which activities actually contribute to “value added” versus actions which do not. It is the “non-value added” actions that we focus on to achieve the leanest production system possible, by aggressively streamlining these actions or eliminating them altogether when viable.

Our goal is to create a continuous flow of materials everywhere; we do this by arranging our production activities sequentially with no wait time between them. When we do this several things happen; we reduce extra handling, require less floor space and dramatically reduce the time a product takes to complete the production line, along with exposing more waste that has always been in the system. Once the waste is exposed, we work hard to find its root cause and eliminate it. Our objective is to maintain a steady, continuous flow of the product, materials, and information throughout the entire production system. Standardized production methods including “set-up time”, allows for providing a detailed description of how the product is manufactured, assuring that each item will be built to exact specifications every time.

All JSFP fixtures are built to order. Items are only manufactured after an order has been received, reducing costly inventory and preventing waste. We have instituted a method of “one piece flow” to improve quality, allowing us to implement “quality control” on each item rather than a batch of several items, to guarantee customer satisfaction every time.

Our skilled employees make up our extensively trained production team; each of whom is an integral part of the Jefferson Production System and its continuous improvement.
